# Discord Activities

Listune is available as a verified Discord Embedded App (Activity), allowing you to search, control, and stream music directly inside the Discord client on desktop, web, and mobile.

# Supported Environments

Unlike traditional bots that only operate in guild voice channels, the Listune Activity operates across three distinct Discord environments:

# 1. Server Voice Channels

  • How to launch: Join a voice channel in your Discord server, click the rocket Activity icon in voice controls, and select Listune.
  • Playback behavior: The Activity synchronizes with the Main Bot in the voice channel. All participants inside the Activity share the same queue, synchronized playback, and interactive controls.

# 2. Direct Messages (DMs)

  • How to launch: Open a private 1-on-1 Direct Message with a friend, click the rocket Activity icon, and launch Listune.
  • Playback behavior: Does not require a bot voice channel. Audio streams directly through your Discord client via high-fidelity web audio inside the embedded application frame.
  • Use case: Private personal listening or sharing music directly with a friend in a DM call.

# 3. Group Direct Messages (Group DMs)

  • How to launch: Open any multi-user Group DM call and click the Activity icon.
  • Playback behavior: Streams audio through the group activity frame, allowing group members to browse tracks, vote on songs, and enjoy music together in private group chats.

# Key Capabilities

  • Zero Tab Switching: Access the complete Web Player interface without leaving Discord or opening an external browser window.
  • Full Library Access: Browse your liked songs, custom playlists, listening history, and global radio stations directly within the activity modal.
  • Live Karaoke Lyrics: Follow word-by-word synchronized lyrics while chatting with friends.
  • Adaptive Layout: Automatically switches between a spacious focused layout on desktop displays and a compact layout on smaller windows and mobile devices.

# Requirements & Platform Support

  • Supported across official Discord Desktop (Windows, macOS, Linux), Discord Web, and Discord Mobile applications that support Discord Activities.
  • Requires completing the standard one-time Discord OAuth2 authorization prompt when launching the Activity for the first time.
